TSC Supply Chain Members

The supply chain members in the Talent Solutions Coalition (TSC) are post-secondary institutions and certification providers offering industry-recognized programs and certifications in support of careers in aviation manufacturing and maintenance. Membership contributions underwrite support for these members which is provided by a TSC staff group headquartered at the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) in Wichita, Kansas.

TSC supply chain members enjoy two types of support services:

Institutional Marketing and Employer Engagement. TSC advertises the institutional capabilities of its supply chain members on the TSC website and through various promotions of TSC in industry media. TSC staff also design and manage talent fulfillment projects for aviation employers. TSC supply chain members are organized into service teams for individual employers. The composition of these teams varies depending on suppliers’ capabilities and the talent acquisition needs of each TSC client.

Forums in Talent Management Best Practices and Curriculum Content. TSC staff provide annual forums on a variety of talent management topics for TSC supply chain members. In addition, TSC staff offer supply chain members a portfolio of portable ‘soft-skills’ curricula which can be used to complement technical training and education in work with TSC’s employer clients. Wichita Area Technical College makes this content available as part of its role as the managing partner of NCAT and TSC.

Work Ethics

TSC recognizes the need to augment technical skills with highly valued employability skills (or soft skills) to ensure that those who land the job, keep the job once they begin to perform in the professional environment. A collective sample of national employers indicate that the current educational system in the United States is not doing enough, fast enough to prepare for a vibrant economic future for our children and our nation (Cavanagh et. al., 2006). TSC is working to change the conversation that centers on workforce employability by seeking to provide instruction in areas centered on character development and workplace ethics that have previously been described as innate or all together not present in otherwise qualified employment candidates.

TSC offers access to a personalized career coaching model as a way to engage students and potential employees in personalized services to identify their personal and professional goals and establish a career plan that includes a pathway from education, training and certification to employment. The career coaching model includes advisement for career decisions, creating and executing plans for advancement and overcoming obstacles in the workplace.

Guaranteed Interviews

TSC offers access to a model of responsiveness for member institutions as they seek to meet the hiring needs of business and industry and reach a high standard of job-placement for their program graduates. The Guaranteed Interview model offers a process for working with business and industry to strengthen the relationship between education and workplace and focus on the mutual benefits of identifying talent.
